I'm pretty good at this usually, but im hearing everyone start to crow or squat and this silkie is just confusing. Acts like a pullet but looks more roo to me?
My Sebright pullet is only 3 months old and I caught her outside acting strange. I thought it was heat exhaustion so I brought her inside to the AC, and gave her a little bath. Two days later and shes not making progress...
Shes very droopy and letting her wings drop, shes off balance and can't...
Looks like a male & female Sebright and two female silkies? Thanks guys! (two months old. I bought them a couple days old from TSC. Bought 8 and was left with just these four sadly...)
Has anyone been to any of the tractor supply companies in ct? specifically orange/new milford? Im trying to see which breeds they have before driving an hour to be possibly dissapointed
It looks like broken lacing but with Americana puffy cheeks! Love to her bits - Shes 25% bearded Silkie & 75% Serama! Even her comb is adorable! :)
Is there a name for this type of patterning? Or does she just look like a fool to all the poultry fanciers that go by the book haha!
Update: Crook is a little boy now and the reason he was so stunted was because his beak is not only crooked, but his head is a bit mishappen. One eye sinks in farther and he tilts his head awlwardly. He's still too scared to leave momma so I leave them together indoors for now.
The white...
Thats all mah be true, but ive seen my hen raise one chick at a time and never have I seen them grow so slowly. In person you can really see the difference between feathers, my pictures can't do it justice, sadly!
So my top mother hen decided to leave 3 chicks behind and stick with one runt that hatched. In an egg-topsy, the eggs she refused to sit on any longer were deformed and dead in the egg. But this one little runt is confusing me.
(s)he's almost 8 weeks old and is growing very slowly. (s)he eats...
All you sexing experts, I need a second opinion! All these babies are 7 weeks. 75% Serama 25% splash bearded Silkie!
Chick 1: 99% sure he's a little rooster
Chick 2: thinking hen? (loving her color!)
Chick 3: roo?
Chick 4: no idea!
Ive had the pleasure of watching this beauty grow from an accidentally misplaced egg, to six month old mama's boy/ deputy of the flock. (His mother is of course the leader...)
Then after leaving for a month and a half, I came home to this guy:
He is the most stunning rooster I've seen...
There was recently a bear found about 5 miles from me in Monroe! Also lost 3 of my birds to some predator so please watch out! This has been a terrible year for me so far so everyone else stay safe!
