Wheaten pullet, soft color, wing and tail edging dark, tail set, low posture
Looks Blue Wheaten to me, darker over all coloring, tail set, and hackle color
Is this the same bird as above? This one looks Wheaten cockerel to me. Darker (black) feathers coming in
Thinking Blue Wheaten pullet...
Flukes happen, yes the tray was out, I will ask if the turner was off. I didn't turn it off during my hatch, but I took out the tray. I read through the directions but couldn't find how to turn it off.
I have no reason to not believe her, nor any reason to give false information. I won't take...
ErniesFlock please just keep an eye on them. One chick that got it's toe in there did die. I don't know if it was related or not but the other one is scratched up but ok. I never hatch truly important eggs on the first time around with a bator or a broody...
Thank you for the thumbs up on...
I wasn't there Margaret, but yes, I'm guessing it was early in the hatch and there were eggs under the fan and the chick flailed and got it's toe up in there. Not the whole foot. My friend must have very active chicks. I wouldn't post it if it didn't happen. I just went and looked at mine, the...
No one died after it got it's foot clipped, the other one is ok but scratched up. I'm not trying to discourage anyone really, just sharing what happened to my friend when she borrowed it to try.
Copany said that was the first they heard of any problems like that.
Yes, my friend was eager to try it. I don't keep mine in there very long either, but she was afraid to open it. It recovers quickly and I didn't worry about lifting the lid to bring the chicks out.
I had 8 pip at the wrong end, which totally mysitified me, had to help 5 out, which I hate to do...
Yes the slider functions fine, I hatched different size eggs in it. I don't have conventional electricity, nor do I have a spare styro for a hatcher.
My post should have said there are many good things about the incubator. Myabe there will be some improvements in the future. Easy to clean, love...
Hi,
Just finished a second hatch, let a friend who is more experienced at hatching have a go with the IncuView. She was excited to try it.
The buttons are still sticky... it ran a bit hot and she had to turn it down a few times. One pipped at the wrong end, two got a toe whacked by the fan... I...
Thanks! He came from John Blehm in Birch Run Michigan. He is in the breeders directory at www.ameraucana.org
The rooster went back to him to make more awesome Silvers! So... you have to pre order in the fall to get any from him in the spring.
[email protected]
I hope to have some of his babies...
Thank you MrsBachbach!
That is Sir SIlver and he was purchased from a top Ameraucana breeder who has since taken him back to make more really nice Silver Ameraucana! I have one of his sons who is still young and only one hen. BUT there will be more soon!

Amer -i- cana is a play on Ameraucana. Twisted just enough by the hatcheries to fool people into thinking they are getting the real deal. EE and Americana are the same thing in their minds, because it sells chicks.
There is no such breed as an Americana. And Easter Eggers are not a breed either...
Mine looked that way too, so I ran it without much at all. I'm going to have a hygrometer this time to check it and the temp. Not sure if the dial was accurate.
My hatch is done, all the eggs came from my girls. None were shipped eggs. They were tilted twice a day in the house before I set...
Two things show these are EE's right away. You got them at a Feedstore, and their coloring. No purebred Ameraucana is colored like that as a chick. If you would like to check out the 8 accepted colors and learn more go to www.ameraucana.org
You will still have some beautiful birds and great egg...
Set 27 eggs in IncuView April 24. Candled at 8 days had one blood ring and 5 duds infertile. Had 4 question marks.
Incubator has been doing pretty well here, considering I have heated the cabin a couple times, but mostly not. Meaning we are usually in the mid 60's F and up to mid 70's with...
I have wondered how/what people use to sanitize the eggs. Some of mine have a little yuck on them, and I didn't know if that would be bad to put in the bator if they aren't perfectly clean. I see from pictures that may not be so?
Please share how you sanitize before incubating and what you...
