I have two bantams that were born on July 16th and they still aren't laying. I have checked everywhere for hidden nests. So I guess they are about 25 weeks. My older bantam started laying right at 20 weeks. Any ideas when these girls might stay laying?
so I've had 3 successful incubator hatches, but 2 of my hens went broody, so I've let them sit on a total of 5 eggs. Anyway, today is day 19 and I'm so nervous. I haven't candled the eggs the whole time, but it had been so hot here in Florida. Yesterday it hit a heat index of 104. I guess I'm...
They are so cute. I have the eggs marked, but my Japanese bantam eggs are so tiny that it's super easy to tell the difference. Thanks for all the feedback everyone!!
Little Bit got lonely I guess. She sat in there all day until I finally kicked her out. I was worried the eggs would get too hot. Daryl, my bigger hen is currently sitting on 5 eggs in there, but everyday, Little Bit hops up there to lay her egg and hang out for a while. Is this ok?
I originally had a rooster and a hen. My hen is about 6 months old and laying everyday. Well, I sent my rooster to a new home this morning and I'd like to introduce a mature hen to the hen I already have. What's the best way of going about this?
Actually yes! This is what I did. My rooster is moving to a new home on Sunday and I'm going to slowly introduce the chicks to my hen during the day. Thank you so much!
