I think it'd be in the future handler's best interest to have a dog trained not to go after small animals, so you might be even better prepared for this sort of work.
Edit - spelling
Without something to cut the water repellent on their feathers you won't be able to get a good scald. I've never been able to get a duck with its skin still intact... Usually they're skinned, cut up (generally the best part of the bird is the breast and legs, but the entire thing has a decent...
It will likely bond with the chickens and in turn think it's one of them. Not bad if it's a hen, but if it turns out to be a drake you better be ready for him to try raping your chickens. o_O;
The same thing happened to me, only it was six rooster chicks that thought the duckling was their um...
I'm not sure about bonding with sheep since I haven't had any, but I've heard of people that got a single goat and turned out to be destructive because the sheep weren't his idea of fun.
Also! Be very careful feeding the sheep and the goat, since copper is toxic for sheep, and goats require it...
Don't feed too much liver though, or you could overdose your dogs on vitamin K.
I'd absolutely LOVE to get my dog on a raw food diet. Green tripe is apparently very stinky, but it's good because the partially digested "green stuff" (grass and things) will deliver even more nutrients to your...

Cinnamon's breeders practice CAE prevention on their farm, so I'm not too worried about it. Tansy is just a scrub goat, and most of her kids will go for meat. I realize it can pass between goats and such, but I'm just not all that worried by the disease. Good, healthy goats with great...
Okay, sounds good.
I need to get more minerals, so when I head to the feed store to pick that up I'll get some alfalfa pellets too (and chick feed, and chicken feed... sigh. At least I don't need more rabbit food too ).
I've been mixing their feed with Calf Manna to boost their nutrition, so...
Oh he's very pretty.
See, I'd classify him as a bit darker yellow than "normal," but not red.
On the other hand, I've heard some people call their very light light yellows "silver" so who knows. That made me think something was up right away, but whatever. I am by no means a dog breeder or a...
I wish nobody would buy them and she'd be stuck with the puppies until they were all adults and fixed/neutered/castrated/spayed, and had cost her a good fortune to raise. I'm sorry. It's true.
If only it would work that way for everyone that randomly breeds two dogs together... Especially if...
My mallards never flew away. I mean, the drake Sawyer could clear a six foot fence like there was nothing there, and he had a specific mate and everything. BUT they never went broody either. I didn't have them long though, I sold them in favor of the larger breeds.
I had a Fawn and White runner...
Ooooooh! INTERESTING. Verrrry interesting...
*evil cackle*
Nah, I have so many animals anyway, with plans to hopefully expand, that I wouldn't be able to have a lizard too.
Do these guys need heat lamps and special lights like other herps, or are they nocturnal like Leopard geckos and don't...
Chances are they're just darker yellow, and the others are lighter yellow. Any lab I've ever seen was the color it grew up to be when it was younger too.
And 700 dollars? Is she on crack? Unless the parents have had all of their OFA and CERF and such done (not to mention any genetic testing if...
Not bad!
I wanted a leopard gecko a while back, but never made the commitment because of the crickee bugs I'd have to be ranching all the time... EEEEWWWW.
She's really cute.
I've named every duck I had with the exception of a bunch of ducklings that I sold soon after they hatched.
Let's see if I can remember them all...
Magpie, Sawyer, Maji, Mizu, Scuttlebutt, Beetle, Cadbury, Buff Mama, Rokie - my first bach of ducklings. Perdi the goose cam with them...
I used gallon milk jugs standing up like this for my ducklings.
Just make sure the holes are up from the water level enough so that they can't splash it all out.
