...love them they are great dogs! IF you need one I have one male puppy that I was saving for a farmer friend and he decided because of a court case(*having to sue a lady who's pit was eating his cows) right now is not a good time for him to get a puppy for his farm. Afraid something might...
looking for a dog to guard your livestock not eat your livestock no matter which breed ... start with this. Go with a breed that is #1 known to guard livestock not hunt or eat them first #2 a dog that sticks around the livestock not goes off and plays around # 3 is laid back and not aggressive...
WE had some buckeye roos last year and they turned out nicely just no hens to go with them. I think had we had enough hens we would have kept them on. Big nice guys but no one around here knew their worth
I have children and chickens plus other livestock. I was told by a good friend to get GPs, so we got a pair of sisters and I have never regretted the decision. Here is one of our pups we have

I agree with the other poster worm her and de-lice. Looking at her hair she looks worming after the de-worming and fating up she'll be and wonderful girl for you.... Is it not funny how some things we want fatter and other things we want skinny?.... Nice that she is in milk already for you...
I don't really consider us true chicken farmers as we don't make our living off of the chickens. But we have way too many for it to be a hobby. How many here are in the same boat? How many have way over 50 chickens that stay around year round? Not those that come in and are in the freezer soon...

Labs are great but they are bird dogs as are pointers and setters.
Edited to say I have no bias against them I grew up with them... as my dad and grand-dads raised them as they were all avid hunters. They were always trying to see who could have the better dogs.
We grow the giant sunflowers and let them pick them off the flowers when rip they love them that way. Almost like a chew toy for a dog. Several people around here give their chickens cotton seed milled hulls to scratch around with
Oh blue eyes ours don't have the blue eyes that is pretty. Is that usually for them? I know they seem very similar to the Pyrenees in other ways do they also have the double dew claws?
okay here is my few bits.... son bought full grown buff rocks from a guy this winter because they stopped laying for him(*it has been cold here what did he think?). Anyway they are beautiful birds but are bigger than by BOs and have a golden head and neck. I too thought that the BO were supposed...
Ours seem to bond with and protect our flocks and we humans. Lucy the last one pictured in my post laid with an injured goat until she was better not leaving her side making sure she was watched at all times it was touching. This goat was one of those buys my son did because he felt for it as it...
