    The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Hello everyone. These duckling photos are so precious! I need a little help. I got two KC's from Tractor Supply about a month ago. One of them wasn't growing nearly as fast as the other, then he started hoping around trying not to put weight on one of his feet and two days later he died. The...

    Khaki Campbell Newbie!

I just got the cutest pair of Khaki Campbells from my TSC, and was hoping some experienced duck owners could answer some questions for me. 1. Can you tell male and female babies apart? One of mine is noticeably lighter than the other and stands on top or in front of it every time theres a sound...

    New Additions!!!

Yea I'm still looking for a goose for sure. I would love to find Nelson a girlfriend lol. I plan on recording them when I first introduce them, so that will definitely be posted. I'm thinking of doing it sunday so the ducks have a chance to get used to me at least. I had a pair of adult ducks at...

    New Additions!!!

After searching every corner of the Carolinas, it would seem that only male geese are for sale. No babies. No females. And I've searched long and hard. So today, I walk in to TSC, and absolutely fell in love with these two ducklings that were chilling all by themselves outside the group. They're...

    Toulouse Geese Thread

She will be a year in mid-May and no eggs yet. But some people have said big breeds like her can take until the second spring after hatching to lay eggs. I'm debating between Toulouse and Embden but not sure yet

    Toulouse Geese Thread

I was thinking that too for a long time, but I'm just not sure. I tried to do the sexing thing when she was a day old and nothing popped out, but I'm not sure I did it right and I didn't want to hurt her. I'm ordering two females on Thursday, so there shouldn't be any male/male problems either way

    Toulouse Geese Thread

Can someone help me out with the sex of my Toulouse baby? I've posted pictures before and gotten mixed responses. Some swear male and some swear female so I tried to get some helpful photos. Better angles maybe... This is 1) the day she hatched, 2) roughly one week and 3&4 are current

In Search Of Embden's in NC

Seeing as how I don't have the best luck anyway, female it is then. This way I'll either have two girls or a pair. Best not to tempt fate. If I got a male and it hurt my Nelson I'm pretty sure that goose would end up in someone's freezer. I hate to say that, but I can't risk two males...

In Search Of Embden's in NC

I read a bunch of info on how to "train" them and assert dominance, so we are working on that part. I've been told by a lot of people that getting him a mate will calm him down. She seems a little either afraid of me or nervous sometimes. Like she will go in her house when I come out to the pen...

In Search Of Embden's in NC

Oh thank you, I came across this. The only problem is that its a male, and I have to get a female. I think mines a boy and I want a girl to calm him down. I'm afraid if I get a boy they would be meaner.

In Search Of Embden's in NC

Trying to find some Embden goslings right outside of Charlotte NC on the NC/SC state line. Anyone selling them anywhere near here? I had a lady going to selling me one of hers but she decided to keep them all.

    Creating Goose Garden

For those of you that were keeping up with me and Nelson, I decided to keep her, and will be getting a female Embden gosling from a nearby farm as soon as they hatch. She's taken really well to the move, and we're working on training the aggressiveness out of her. On to my questions. I love...

    Lingering concerns....

    Lingering concerns....

I'm about to move my goose over to my boyfriends house where I just moved in, and he has well water. I'll be buying her filtered drinking water but I'm wondering about the water for her pool. Its hard water and has iron flakes in it, so I guess my question would be is too much iron a big problem...

Toulouse Goose in need of good home

I appreciate the interest, but I decided to keep her. I have a better place I can bring her too now and I'm ordering her some goslings on Monday. The more I thought about it I realized I just can't part with my baby.

    Toulouse Geese Thread

After looking at all the unbearably cute pictures, I'm beginning to wonder if its normal that my gooses beak isn't as bright orange as the others....could this be a nutritional or health problem or is that normal?

HELP with seb that is hatching!!! Emergency

My goose took a solid day and a half after I started to assist to come all the way out, so don't get down or panicked.

HELP with seb that is hatching!!! Emergency

Two things: DON'T PANIC and KEEP THAT MEMBRANE DAMP. I had to assist my goose when she starting trying to hatch. Don't flood the membrane by putting to much water. Keeping it damp will allow you to see those veins, and know when its time to move forward with assisting if you need to, but too...

How do I introduce a new goose?

In that case I think I'll go with two Embden girls from Metzers. I'm so excited to have little goosey fluff balls around again
