I'm looking to sell a very mixed family of ducks.
A Golden 300 Hybrid Layer Duck, An Ancona, Cayuga, Runner mix and their three ducklings (less than a week old).
We have too many birds in our flock to keep the babies and I'd feel bad taking them away from their doting/protective mom. The drake...
I have an Ancona Drake that 'fathered' three ducklings this year that I plan to keep. He's a beautiful Drake, about 1 1/2 years old and mostly Blue and white. I'm only looking to sell him because I don't want fertile eggs any more. Our flock is as big as were going to let it get.
I have him...
Hi Coloradans! My American Buff goose needs a friend or a mate. Is anyone looking to sell/rehome a young adult American buff Gander? Or any breed of female goose?
I'll try the feed store, they might even let me post a little 'wanted poster' type thing.
There is one rescue I've seen post on Craigslist a few times about taking unwanted farm animals. I might call them to see if they have any to re-home.
I'm not sure if Nini would adopt a gosling or not...
I'm leaning towards keeping my Goose, the idea of selling her was not sitting well :( I'm too attached.
Does anyone know of someone in Colorado looking to sell a juvenile/adult (preferably female) goose?
I looked a bit in the sales thread. For some reason I have the worst time navigating the 'buy sell trade' part of the site. That said, I did see a lot of goslings for sale, but not local and I think it would be wiser to get an adult.
:) I'll ask in the American Buff thread though, thats a...
So I know this thread is a little 'aged' but I'm hoping someone might know where in Colorado I could get a Juvenile/adult goose?
I have a 1 year old American Buff and she needs a companion (preferably another girl).
That could be good. :) I'm feeling better about this than selling her for sure. I just hope my household doesn't loose it if I find her a friend. What ever happens I'll let you know.
:D Thank you!
I will, for now I haven't heard from anyone on my local thread and I dont want to post her to craigslist.. I still hate the idea of giving her up. If by some weird happen chance someone local is selling another Buff Goose I might get her a mate and just hope that my household is okay with it...
Thanks Livin, That she may not be being overly aggressive makes me feel a little better about it. I'll miss her but it probably is the most sensible thing.
It could be that she was trying to mate her at first (confused goose?) but then she just stopped and sat on top of her. The duck had gone so still I thought maybe I was too late.
I separated her for now. Luckily we have another yard that will work for a while. I don't think it would go over...

She went to the vet and was put on antibiotics when she was little. I had been assuming they'd correct me if it turned out she was male.
I'm pretty sure she's laid a few eggs as well. I've collected some that are much bigger and whiter than my ducks eggs.
She definitely got a lot of attention as a gosling and still gets a bit more than the ducks.
If I put her back with the others is she likely to keep doing it? :/ I realize this is probably a silly question, I'm just hopeful I wont have to find her a new home.
