I know this is an American site and is mostly american members, just wondering if there are many members from the UK, I feel left out as in all the threads they talk about 50lb bags of feed when in England we say Kg and they go to home depot for supplies and we go to Selco, Homebase, BnQ and so...
Don't buy one, they are so easy to make ! Google flock block recipe or search on byc as there are some on here too and loads will come up and you just add whatever you feel your birds would like simple.
What kind of set up have you got? Hardware cloth 1/2 inch? As well as around the edges buried underground? Secure all the way round? I design and build enclosure for a living, any advice you may require, I am at your service, it's a horrible feeling losing a bird but one I am yet to feel.
Hey there,
Lovely snake, first off are you sure it's a Lampropeltis getula (black eastern king) as they have yellowish chain link like bands across the back off their body, and it depends how old the snake is if it's young and hunting it will be power eating where as if it's over 3 years of age...
I'm suprised the amount of money you have paid for the door and it doesn't have a sensor, I'm from London uk and I have an auto door with a sensor if anything is in the way it won't close, can be a pain if the chickens are in the way but when they move it will close anyway so not a problem.
A big pond full of clean fresh water, plenty of day light or artificial light, never fails, and as for the lack of eggs it could be anything, lack of a substance in diet, could be anything.
Im in the UK and a lot of the domestic population of Aylesbury's are in the UK, they are a very large breed, similar to cherry valley & pekins, decent egg layers. there are some breeders in the U.S I have some breeders contact info if you want it ?
If you have the right conditions you could do, a large well insulated shed with plenty of lighting, a heat lamp, plenty of bedding and a thermometer, I have done it plenty of times.
you can have the calls on an above ground pen if you want it is more hygienic, but you could have them on a ground pen, its your choice, I have a pair of mandarins on an above ground pen and it works well.
Just get a heavy breed, they only get about a metre off the ground or less, and ducks are not solitary birds and you will need at least 2. I recommend cherry valley ducks, I don't know where your from, but im in the UK, I don't think there popular breed in the U.S. anyone got any cherry...

Hi there,
Acrylic does have some good properties that would make it suitable for a brooder, Ventilation would be key but other than that Acrylic would make a fine brooder. I have personally used it before and never had a problem.
Anything else let me know.
