If you bought the Harris Farms name brand cups, they will work flawlessly/effortlessly installed in either orientation. If you cheaped out and bought the cheap knockoffs on eBay or Amazon, they sell for about a buck a piece.... they will only work well in the vertical orientation.

My chickens actively hunt, kill, and eat mice. I train juveniles by dropping mice to them, they play keep away until there is no mouse left. Who needs a cat? Can they lay eggs?

I get fodder seed from my feed supply store. Talk to the store operators tell them what you are doing. In most cases they may not have what you need, but they will get it. A 50 pound bag of Barley seed cost me 15-17 dollars.
The first 3-4 months Brahmas build the framework, the next 3-4 months they put on the weight. Mine drop their first eggs at the 6 month mark and lay an egg a day.
He’s definitely got great stature. He doesn’t seem as big next to his Brahma hens. The hens are still definitely formidable. My smallest Brahma hen is just under 10#. I haven’t noticed much of a size difference between dark/light/buff but there are bantam variations.
