How to train my pullets to drink from these water bowls????

I'm attaching a picture of the water system I have set up for my almost 14 wk old chicks and am wondering if anyone has any tips on how to train them to use this type? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
I forgot to Train mine and they figured it out on their own by watching their bigger older sisters. (they had their old water option to btw so in case they didn’t know how to use it they could use the other one) Dip their beaks like you did when they first came in the mail/hatched and make sure they start to understand before you take way their other water option (open trough) If they don’t get it immediately do it daily until it clicks

Well, good news! After about 36 hrs. of that being their only water source, they figured it out!! And no casualties!!! Such a relief! Thanks for all your ideas and input! It's much appreciated!

I had same water cups. Mine never figured them out. I was concerned they may get too dehydrated with the heat so I swapped back to my old waterers. Someone posted a replacement cup that is gravity filled. Tho I can’t remember the exact name or who sold them.
A friend of mine had those and his never figured it out either. He actually gave them to me but I never tried them.

I wouldn’t recommend that be the way you teach them every time 😅 but congrats!

These bowls can require significant force on the yellow trigger to release water if there is too much pressure. I also have a 5 gallon bucket with these at the bottom but only the bigger birds can peck it hard enough to make water come out. You might need another source for smaller birds.

If you bought the Harris Farms name brand cups, they will work flawlessly/effortlessly installed in either orientation. If you cheaped out and bought the cheap knockoffs on eBay or Amazon, they sell for about a buck a piece.... they will only work well in the vertical orientation.

the Harris Farms cups are 5-8$ a pair and worth the extra cost.
