Most of my flock(9) out of 13 are losing down feathers under belts and around tail.. A few have naked lower backs. I have DE on the ground and inside coop with neem oil on perches. I have checked for mites a few times at night and see nothing.. I have put them in a tub of DE twice now and coated...
I have a 3 wk old olive egger.. Not sure if its his/her toes or legs that are week.. Fed them this morning and it was sitting sideways.. Thought it was just warming under heat. Picked it up to check on it and when I put it back down it couldn't hold it's wait very well.. Has been completely fine...
Looking for Sandys number to see if she's picking up tomorrow I have 2 roosters either blue or blk orpingtons that are about 6-8 wks old super nice beautiful birds .. Just can't have Roos.. Thank you
We are from Martinez California I talked to you in the past, thats funny we drove through Placerville yesterday on the way home from Tahoe do you have chicks yet?
Fan, large fowl.. I couldn't get my thermomiter to go but 89.4 or 101. Nothing in between.. I kept it at 89.4 and humidity at 50% incubation and 60-70% hatch.. All the unfertile eggs where scrambled when I cracked them
I had 30 eggs in incubator 1 hatched day 19, 6 hatched day 20 and day 21 5 fully delveloped but dead and the rest not even fertile! I'm feeling disappointed but happy with at least haveing 6 babies doing great! I'm thinking my humidity was too high during hatch?
another way to save $ on meal worms is start your own colony. It is so easy and rewarding to feed your chickens..There is so much info on BYC.This is one of our little batches we had .
