Our curious white leghorn named Pinky (due to the pink zip tie around her ankle so we can tell them apart) came up to my second deck door and deposited a poop with a round worm sticking out. Until this moment I have not found any worms. Still looking. Posted are some other pictures with some of...
We have a free range flock and would like to put up a deer feeder this year. The chickens will roam near it and pick up any spillage. Does anyone know the best idea to put inside to feed the deer but still ok for the chickens?
Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to reply. She was hatched from my largest bird who is heavier than my rooster. I could see how this may be the problem. I can control her feed and will do just you said.
Hi yes, she’s still roosting. This morning her crop felt empty. The description is hard, it didn’t feel doughy, more squishy and soft. No breath odor. Last night it felt full but normal similar to other chickens I put away that night.
This afternoon when I took the video it felt normal. I will update tomorrow morning / evening.
This evening she still was roosting as normal.
Thank you.
Also easier to catch just today and much less skittish as others her age. Normally she would be running from me and the camera unless food was around and she was distracted.
11 week old, pullet, from our mutt roo who I’ve owned for about 12 mos with Vaccinated (Mareks)Hen from Myers, hatched here with 20 other chicks from our flock (31 total) she looks most like mom a Brahma buff light
-noticed slight limping about 5 days ago, now more intense, and tail drooping...
Thank you! We got quite the mix out of him this time. I was most surprised at the Brahma Buff Light chick looking exactly like the hen. Can you help me understand how this happens?
Barnyard mix Roo, plus my black purebred black hen from Myers hatchery (not sure of her breed) made us 2 black chicks and one blue/ grey colored chick. Such a pleasant surprise.
These two love scraps so much they tolerate each other. This same hen a NH Red named Marahute (Rescuers Down Under movie) has tried dragging a hambone away from my other dog hahah! Just today she jumped on the kids picnic table and stole a macaroni noodle from my sons bowl, then flew off. I love...
