[Pretty Birds]

These are such unique mutts! I wonder how they look now.

Here is an update of the mix breeds in my previous post. I do have some pictures of the cockerels before they went to their new home.

1/4 Barred Rock 1/4 Easter Egger 1/2 Brahma

They gorgeous birds! I wonder what their chicks will look like! What colors are their eggs (the girls, not the roos )?

Both of the girls lay brown eggs (there were only 2 pullets). One is 1/4 EE, so I hoping that she would lay colored eggs, but that is not the case.

I love seeing all these mixes! Mixes are my favorite too because of the variety and it always seems they are hardier for me.

Right now I just have one banty rooster mix who is 8 years old. I’m hoping to hatch out some babies from him this spring! I seriously ADORE him- he’s such a good boy. His name is Nugget. I bought him from a big farm and have no clue what he’s mixed with.

Here are some hatches I had from my previous flock.
This is Gertrude a black cochin x turken

These were all cochin mixes my cousin hatched out and gave me for my birthday

Here is the birds above baby. Apparently my red roo x white hen creates a buff color!

This hen hatched out a turken x blr wyandotte baby, the silkie is purebred, and then the black ones are black cochin mixes from my roo and the little one in the front is blrw x silver lakenvelder

Here is the silver lakenvelder x blrw closer. She turned out so cool!

This hen and roo I got free and not sure what they were mixed with but very sweet birds!

And lastly I can’t find an adult picture of them but these two turned out so cute. The pullet in the back turned into a feather footed light gray hen and the boy in the front was all white with feathery feet and red wings.

Barnyard mix Roo, plus my black purebred black hen from Myers hatchery (not sure of her breed) made us 2 black chicks and one blue/ grey colored chick. Such a pleasant surprise.
