Thanks, Rikus! That is very nice of you. I may have to take you up on your offer yet, but I am still trying to keep her if possible. She is not vaccinated.
The past couple days I have actually had her back out in the coop without incident so I am trying to see if she will be able to stay. I...
Thanks for the replies. I am still hoping to re-home her as she is feeling better and anxious to get outside. I take her out for supervised time right now, however, all the other gals are still trying to get it her and her neck is still healing up a bit. I did make her a chicken sweater to try...
Hello BYC Community!
I have a 1.5 year old Silver Seabright that I regretfully need to re home. I have had her since a chick (last spring) and unfortunately her other 5 hen friends have suddenly decided to start pick and peck on her. She currently is recovering from getting her neck plucked...
It looks like what we though was a she really turned out to be a he. I love this little frizzle, and would Love to keep him, but Boise doesn't allow males. He has started to crow in the morning and I have had a neighbor complain. He is a 5 month old bantam frizzled white cochin. Please let me...

x2. In my flock, I had a sexlink laying steadily (4-5 eggs a week) into her 3rd year. Unfortunately, she was killed by a dog, so I won't know how long she would have been laying before dropping off.
Looks like a she to me! A Light Brahma hen. Do you know how old she is? She might not be laying eggs because she is an older hen, or she might be stressed from her past and stopped laying because of that.
I have often thought about greening my chicken coop roof, too. I have not done it yet as I still store a lot of stuff on top of the coop. Ideally, I'd have a storage area or box for the stuff on top of it, so that I could plant on the roof. I am interested in seeing what other people post about...
I usually clean the coop and boxes later in the afternoon/evening. Usually hens are done laying by that point so it's not a disruption to them. They love getting out and about to romp around while I'm working too :) good luck!
