Here’s a pic of what the wound looked like when only some of the blood was whiped off, now it all has, and we were careful to avoid putting pressure on the stomach.
She has since become much happier snuggling up under her mother, we will continue regularly disinfecting and hope for the best...
We removed the bandaid a while back, snipping the ends of feathers so no down was ripped out; it was decently loose. And we are using anti biotics, we’re hoping that if she absorbs then rest of the yolk before it gets infected she’ll be fine.
My
shes moving a lot and still has some life, we looked into it and it’s an open naval, where she was absorbing the yolk, we’re going to regularly disinfect it and do our best to help her.
It’s a strange cut, but it doesn’t look like it’s bleeding, I can’t really describe what it looks like. But I cleaned the blood off, and I put a bandaid on it…
Im not sure where that is tbh, she’s been slowly coming out of the egg after cheeping, and we check on her and her stomach is bloody. She’s being raised by a new broody.
No, our other BR girls have been laying for months, she instead has decided to do nothing for months and crow and mount hens today. Those hens have all so far treated her as a female and are very confused.
That can be an option!? She is shaped like a hen just two times as wide! And with a very large head and the wrong color feet and beak. Plus the Spurs and crowing,,,hmmm.
