EMERGENCY WILL SHE MAKE UT

The typical human one…
Bad move. It's too sticky and will rip out the chick fuzz. But the chick won't make it anyways, it's best to cull it. If you aren't allowed, then just let her alone. She will die on her own. Do not put her back in with the other chickens, they will peck her and it won't be pretty

My

shes moving a lot and still has some life, we looked into it and it’s an open naval, where she was absorbing the yolk, we’re going to regularly disinfect it and do our best to help her.
Don’t put her in with the other chickens, and please remove the bandaid. What are you gonna use to disinfect it?

please remove the bandaid.
Since the bandaid is already on, I would probably leave it there until the next time they need to do something with the chick. Pulling it off might pull out some of the chick's down, and might hurt the chick, but doing it sooner will not help anything. (Later might be a little easier, if it starts to come loose on its own.)

We removed the bandaid a while back, snipping the ends of feathers so no down was ripped out; it was decently loose. And we are using anti biotics, we’re hoping that if she absorbs then rest of the yolk before it gets infected she’ll be fine.

Here’s a pic of what the wound looked like when only some of the blood was whiped off, now it all has, and we were careful to avoid putting pressure on the stomach.

She has since become much happier snuggling up under her mother, we will continue regularly disinfecting and hope for the best, and she’s either an Easter egger, or an Easter egger buff mix which is that I’m hoping for :).
