I know this is an older post but did you figure it out? I have a rooster with gout. Still looking for a remedy. He has the one that is not visceral, the name won't come to me. OK I remember....articular gout
The one I have, you have to push the set button, then set the temp up or down, then press the set button twice. It does go up and down about one degree .
Well, I still manage to get the water dish in there, just kinda wait till the chicks aren't right there. I guess the rabbit bottle can be for back-up. Before she went broody she was such a sweet hen lol.
I got a rabbit watering bottle, hope that works. I can't put anything big in there because of the little chicks and they keep getting shavings in it. So maybe the bottle will work.
It wasn't close to hatching it sank to the bottom, no holes. Not my first hatch either, I think it was the incubator. I hatched out chicks with success in a 10 gallon aquarium before this.
Could it possibly be filled with water from the high humidity ? There is no smell. Also, it looked normal until the day after I increased the humidity according to instructions on day19.
