I am at day 21 and on one egg I can't see an air cell

ok then maybe it has pipped and filled the space with its body? I never candle during lockdown. I don't want you tossing the egg if it is good so leave it and hope for the best.

As to your question, no, high humidity is needed, it would not flood the air cell.

I've accidentally drowned chicks in their eggshells with excessive humidity when first starting out, so it's possible.

Never, water candle any eggs that are close to hatching. The chicks can drown if there's any hole in the eggshell.

It wasn't close to hatching it sank to the bottom, no holes. Not my first hatch either, I think it was the incubator. I hatched out chicks with success in a 10 gallon aquarium before this.

Whenever you think the egg has gone long enough, you should do an eggtopsy to confirm this.

After my mistake, I started using separate calibrated hygrometers, & thermometers in my incubator.
