I am looking for rare/exotic/top hat breeds from a hatchery that offers free shipping. Other than Murray, does anyone know of such a place that is currently offering the free shipping?
This happened today between 2:30pm and 5pm with temperature outside of 60 degrees, sunny clear sky.
Husband thinks Hawk because of the way the body looks.
I thought one of the neighbors cats because it looks like she put up a fight or a run because the feathers are scattered so far from the...
Any takes on what breed she is?
All three pictures are of the same girl.
Bought with a batch of "exotics".
Tail feathers are so pretty-kind of a bluish grey.
These chicks are not related. One came from my own flock (roo was a dark brahma but Mama could have been any one of my many kinds). The second chick came from a friend with multiple varieties.
Any ideas?
I have had a broody hen sitting on her eggs for well over a week now. Last night when I candled them, they showed movment.
She had a change of heart today and was off the eggs. The eggs were cool to touch so I know she was off them long enough for that to happen.

I have 26 hens. They are about 25 weeks old. When egg production dropped, we thought it was the heat. Turns out that a couple of the girls are laying their eggs at the edge of the woods (They free range on 8 acres).

We will be building the 20' x 10' run this weekend. Using 4x4's on all corners. Buying a wooden screen door and putting hardware cloth over it. Using hardware cloth on the sides and over the top of run. Going to use sand on the ground in the run.
Here is my question:
What to use for the fram...
The coop is done and it is getting dark. This window has a screen on the bottom and no hardware cloth over it yet. However, I don't see how a racoon or varment can get into this building to the girls tonight. There is nothing for them to climb up to in order to get to this window with the...
