Okay heres how it went:
It was a complete mess.
We sprayed a libral amount of the starting fluid(it had 40% ether which was the highest we could find) into the container and quickly placed her in and closed it. I came back out 45 minutes later to check. She was still alive(though in a...
hello, it appears that we will sadly be having to cull one of our hens. It started with prolapsed vent and has evolved to a terrible QOL for her and recovery does not appear to be viable anymore so we have made the decision to euthanize her. What are the most humane methods that dont involve...
I cant take a picture of it right now but i will post one asap. It looks like 90% of it is black and I just tried to scub it off but shes in clear pain when i do and i wasnt able to get it off. Is culling the only option if it cant be removed:(?
Weve been continuously pushing it back in and applying the ointment but it just pops back out. She laid another egg today. There does appear to be some black tissue, what is this?
The white stuff appears to just be poop. We were able to clean most of it off. But i found somethibg today: she laid an egg. The vent is fully prolapsed again and she laid an egg this morning
As i was batheing her she showed discomfort(in the form of high pitched murmering and feathers standing up around her neck) as i applied pressure by the base of her tail feathers
Like white gelatinous matterial in like a glob and strings. Upon cleaning her off it appears that it is fully prolapsed again and shes trying to poop but its stuck. The white stuff isnt coming off in the bath
Weve applied the preparatio H. Waiting for swelling to go down now. As soon as it does ill push it in. We have a towel in the crate as bedding. Should we try to completely clean off the feathers around the vent first? Its mostly clean just has a little bit of poop on then
