prolapsed vent!

Shes in a dog crate. Mom is on the way home with stuff. Im currently alone but as soon as i can get someone else to hold her i can take/post some pics

You can get a bucket or something similar and start her in a warm bath now...the epsom salt is not a deal breaker.

The other problem i just remembered is that im leaving later today to go skiing up in NH with my dad. We’re coming back tomorrow night. My mom is staying home so ill have to teach her how to deal with it while im gone. Should i be feeding her normal food (along with the electrolytes[in the form of banana] and calcium[in the form of oyster shells]) while she is quarantined

Once she is cleaned up, and prolapse is back in, if all goes well, she hopefully will be ok at least until she tries to lay again, so mom might not need to do too much other than make sure she's got food and water.

Also I would not put pine shavings in the crate, a towel or newspaper, you don't want anything that could stick to or irritate the vent area.

View attachment 1679334 When i went down to collect eggs today i found a chicken on the nest. She had something frozen all over her butt(and possibly vent) its been quite cold here lately so my first thought was that it was just some frozen poop and cleaned her off in water water, but as i cleaned i saw what is almost like a red bubble thing near her vent. I dont think its is frozen anymore. Shes currently in a makeshift cage in the basement while i wait on what to do from yall.
EDIT: the red bubble thing is like a lump coming out of her vent/maybe butt

Is she acting normal? How frozen was all that?
The soaking will hopefully help. After you have soaked her apply your ointment/cream.
Gently push on the prolapse to see if it will be go back. It may be too swollen to stay in. That's o.k., just keep the exposed tissue moist with your ointment.

She needs to stay hydrated, eat her normal food. You can give her a crushed up TUMS or 1/2tablet of Caltrate for extra Calcium. 1/4 of a banana is o.k. too

It doesn't look like the tissue is damaged, but more photos will be helpful. Is she bleeding?
Most of the time a prolapse can be fixed, it will take time and patience, so keeping her in would be good.

Weve applied the preparatio H. Waiting for swelling to go down now. As soon as it does ill push it in. We have a towel in the crate as bedding. Should we try to completely clean off the feathers around the vent first? Its mostly clean just has a little bit of poop on then

Before you do anything, try to see if there is any egg matter in all of the goop under her vent. It is a prolapsed vent, but those can happen when a hen has a stuck egg. Sometimes the egg can break. Hopefully this is a simple prolapse, and nothing else. But can you see if her vent may have been pecked and damaged by the other chickens?

Soaking her and getting her vent cleaned up is good. The red prolapse tissue has to be kept moist at all times with honey, oil, ointment or creams, or it can dry out and die. If she has some damaged skin, plain Neosporin can be used. Hydrocortisone cream, hemorrhoid cream, or honey can bring down swelling through osmosis. Keep her vent area clean with soaks as needed.

How often does she lay? To stop her from laying to let her vent heal, place her in a dark cage or room for 16 hours overnight until she stops laying altogether. This may take several days. Let her out in the daylight for 8 hours every day to eat and drink or walk around. Keep her isolated from the other chickens, but she can be in a dog crate or cage with them during daylight hours.

No egg matter, no pecking from chickens, lays pretty much every day,
