Posting this for my sister. Just under 8 weeks laced Wyandotte. Have a neighbor that's wants a roo. Is this a good bet? Very dominant towards people and their giant dog.
Well all but one were bought from Tractor as pullets but I don't think they are correct. Let me know if I can get better pics, it's just hard because they don't stand still.
They were all born June 6th.

Thank you so much. I knew about the heat and the age but everything together is just really freaking me out. Had never heard of the Nu-Stock but will be getting that.
I noticed a drop in eggs this year and at first assumed it was age since a good portion of our flock is between 4 and 5 years old now but after finding one of our girls has bumble foot and starting treatment for that we noticed a good amount of the other birds were also acting off. One we knew...
Here is the little one. The comb isn't as red in the regular light but looks pretty pink to me when under the heat lamp compared to the others. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Long story short, got eggs from neighbor to hatch at school, took the runt getting picked on and now want to try to ID dad to have a better idea of what the chick is.
Of course the comb is starting to pink up at only 4 weeks which means unless he would miraculously be a quite guy, I won't be...
Thank you. I have seen her eat with these girls, it was just the first group that was mean to her. Is it really ok to treat them for coccidiosis if they don't have it?
Figures I'm over doing it. They were all born on 6/7. The tiny one was born as part of a hatch at the school I was working at. The others weren't letting it eat and it was screaming a lot. All the eggs were standard size and this one had a hard hatch. We weren't expecting it to survive but it...
I have a chick that has foamy, runny poop and I can't remember what that means. Three of the 5 also shake their heads quite a bit. I've had chickens for 5 years now but these two things are new to me. I've been looking around but not finding a definitive answer on what to do.
They are indoors...

I got new ones about 3 months ago now but they aren't together and I practice pretty good bio security with new birds. The last ones were added last August but no one has shown anything like this except her and we've had her for about 2.5 years.
I have a bantam speckled Sussex that is 3.5 years old that I have been watching the last few weeks loose more and more of her ability to see. I was assuming that since I got her from a backyard breeder it was possibly some sort of genetics/cataracts starting but looking online is freaking be out...
Chick jail. If possible section her off so she can see the others but not be aggressive to them. Give it a day or two and then see if she has calmed down when you let her out with the others. If not, back to jail she goes. It might make a difference if she can see the others playing nice and...
I had one burrow under the feeder we had in the bin with them and die. It was our first batch and I heard them fussing that morning but figured they were just figuring out some sort of pecking order and didn't go out. I felt terrible but sometimes bad things just happen.
I've never had the meat...
I just got this picture a few days ago of the first of the unexpected chicks this year and the last of the original three 😔. It's my favorite of her and I just wanted to share. Gidget has become very attached to me so I've been spoiling her with some extra attention since she isn't fond of the...
