Along the same subject here, I have a specific request. I'm looking for hatching eggs from SQ light brahmas. Looking for a dozen or so to be shipped to Alaska. I have been having eggs shipped up quite a bit already this year and having very good success with them. I'm looking to add the light...
My beautiful quality mottled duccle hen.
My roo that did not come from ideal. Hes the accidental breeding of a LF BCM that jumped coop to get to my poor little mottled hen (not the one pictured) and had this beautiful little guy. His foot feathers are amazing!
Sorry for the sideways picture, not too sure how to fix that right this minute...
Hes a mille D'Uccle. Tht little hen there in the background didnt quite agree with him and picked his beard off! It was so full and pretty! ill get better pics once its grown back :)
Ive got quite the order coming...
Well I can't get her to keep her wrap on and now her wing is swollen where the break is. It's huge. It's not really soft, so I don't know if they swell like we would?? I know when I broke my arm it got pretty swollen. But she's a bird.. Anyways, it has no odor at all, not draining and she still...
She's still doing good. Healing up, she's able to hold her wing up to her body and move it around. They heal surprisingly fast. I'm going to wrap her up again tonight. I havnt been home since this morning and it's 12:34 am.
No word yet but I gave my two that are worst off some antibacterial antibiotic and they turned around within just a couple days. So I'm wondering if they got some bacterial infection from the feed or something. I'm still pretty stuck on the feed being the issue because like I said, that's the...
I don't have any type of antiseptic and she has major arteries I'd be worried about. I think that'd be way too much pain for her and jt may put her in shock...
I dint have anybody that treats ducks in my area. Only place is the state vet and they deal with diseases and such.. I'm stuck doing it at home. Otherwise I would take her in. She's eating and drinking, doesn't seem to be too stressed, though I know she is. I have her beside my bed in my dogs...
They store all their feed inside where I bought it. I'm going with nutrena scratch and layer.. The chickens in the coop have about 80% turned around for the better! Yay!!! The ones I have left seem to have their appetites back and I hear a bit of crowing out of there today.. My polish, he's just...
I've got 5 mallards, 3 hens and 2 drakes. Well one of my hens got out of the cage, flew right past me and out in the road and got hit. Her humerus bone is shattered in her left wing. I cleaned it up (one of the bones broke through the skin) and cut back all of her feathers off that wing. In...
Yeah I guess honestly if I had a meat bird that got injured, euthanization would be top on my list aside from a vet bill on a bird I plan to eat... Lol. I just have my pets, so it's not often I think that way... I did kick myself in the butt for that expensive vet bill for a ten dollar fix...
I have some that are acting that way, may be something totally different. But let me first say she looks like a he. But I have two Roos that are unable to walk, one is eating and drinking but still falling over and cannot walk at all. Just up on his hocks and unable to move any more than an inch...
Yeah it what I've bought for quite some time. My polish is continuing to get better. Yes trying to preen now but still can't keep his balance. I have a houdan that's a little down and out now. Seems when I put them back in the coop they drop again, but as long as they're inside they get better...
Poor duck! You've got to remember, you're posting to people that would pay whatever it costs because they LOVE their birds. I paid a 350 dollar
Vet bill on a pheasant because he had a swollen face, ended up to be something I could fix with 10 dollars and about 3 days, but that's beside the...
Hi Tori! I bought the food from my local wal mart. I hav all the dead so far at the state vet for necropsies in hopes that they'll be able to find something. They said out of 18 other flocks, they got birds from 4 and feed from 3, they havnt been able to find any toxins or anything in any of...
