Hi! I have a little girl that is in 4H that is taking a Sizzle hen to the 4H fair. What do the judges look for? I thought you couldnt take a sizzle because she is a mix...is this a recognized breed? I want to give her some pointers.. but I have no idea about any of it.
Can I see a photo of your nesting boxes!? I want mine to be like that... everyone else I talk to say theres just cuddle up on the ground. =/ I dont want that
I have 5 Silkies and one Sizzle.. They are about 2 months old. I know I cant put them in my coop with my big girls....but I wanted to know if silkies needed anything specific in their coop? I have heard they dont roost and I have heard that they wont get out of the rain so I need a roof covering...
I have two dogs and a fenced in yard. My chickens usually free range all day and sleep in the coop at night.I have had the coop for almost a year now with no issues. =]
I am actually looking for a second coop...SMALL for my silkies. Not looking to spend alot. I spend over $600 on my last one... STUPID lol I am in Lakeland.
I have 8 large fowl and 2 bantams that live together right now peacefully. I had a silkie and she died. I want to try again but should I have a separate coop for my silkies? I was told that the larger birds will kill the silkies and that is what likely happened to my last one. Thoughts? I dont...
There are still standard colors for chickens.. they aren't just reserved for pure bred birds. I call her an EE because she lays blue eggs. I was actually told that she is an ameraucana from the breeder.
