How to raise my Cornish Cross for the long term?

Yes splayed legs are fixed I believe. She does walk kinda like a heavy duck but I don’t know if that’s normal for her breed or not. Is it normal for them to be so lazy? She prefers to just lay around rather then run and jump fly like her EE sisters. I reaaaallllllly hope she’s a she. When I got...

How to raise my Cornish Cross for the long term?

I have a CC chick that’s a little over 2 weeks old. I got her from tractor supply because she had splayed legs and she needed help. At the time I was heavily hoping that she would turn out to be a white leghorn. But alas that is not the case. She’s currently growing up with her two EE sisters...

Chick breathing weird. What to do?

She’s been hobbled for a week. She has frog like thighs that kept widening her vet wrap hobble but she was walking even making turns! But her thighs looked very wrong while standing. So about three days ago I made her a new hobble using a 1/2” straw piece and a 1 1/2” Mini hair tie. The new...

Chick breathing weird. What to do?

i’m not sure what the temperature is. I’ll try to get a thermostat today, but I got her a larger bin and a friend but at this point I don’t think it’s the heat making her gasp. This is a new video I took of her last night.

Chick breathing weird. What to do?

I have a baby chick that I made a prior post about having spayed legs. Her legs are still odd, but I see improvement, but i have had a new issue for the past couple of days. She’s been panting and has clicky lungs. Her breathing seems to be worse when she’s in her bin and I’m not holding her...

HELP chick can’t stand up!! Splayed leg!!!!

Tractor supply gave me two splayed leg chicks to try and care for, but they were very thirsty and weak when I got them. One of them has already passed on, but the other one I’m much more hopeful for. I need some help figuring out what to do next I took a video of her below. In the video you...

    Pls help sick button quail!!!

I have a male Button quail named noodle. He’s about seven years old and has lived by himself for the past four years since his lady passed away. Today I noticed some crusty brown stuff in the corners of his mouth, and that one of his eyes looked a little runny. It only took a few hours before...

How to help my two silkie roos?

I wouldn’t be opposed to trying to snip Edward’s beak a little I did think it looked a little long. He’s never had much issue eating, but that’s probably because he only eats pellet

How to help my two silkie roos?

They do have a coop but it’s inside for the winter. They will go back outside in the spring though. We just make sure to wheel the coop back inside at night. We have lots of predators and my boys are not the brightest. Could probably comfortably fit 1-3 more ladies.

How to help my two silkie roos?

I have two silky roosters about three years old and I would say they’re both a little special one of them physically (scissor beak). They both lost their two sisters to a sinus infection and the bigger one Buffy has been picking on his brother Edward (aka Edward Scissorbeak) I see that it’s...

    Beak deteriorating fast???

He lives inside my house with me so no wire fencing to get hurt on. The wound on his head started as a bump I saw growing under his feathers until the feathers fell out and the bump burst open. Rather than yellow secretions on the beak, parts of his beak are just turning yellow and black. The...

I don’t know what my pheasant caught from my chicken but he’s not doing well last week his forehead got a bump then burst into a lesion. It’s been healing but his beak is turning black and looks like it’s thin and chipping away. Yesterday his beak itself formed a yellow bump then today it burst...

    Pheasant developed face lesions?

I’ve had a pheasant living indoors with me for around two years I’ve also had a chicken living with me for a year now due to being lame (likely from mareks said the vet). They have their own bins but are in the same room of the house. I’m assuming he picked something up from her? How do I help...

What is happening to my pheasants face?!?

He won’t let me touch him especially not his head but from the looks of it, it looks like his top eyelid skin is peeling off. I have showgirl silkies i raised last spring one had a horrible skin condition that sealed it’s eyes shut and caused the skin to peel off (link here to old post...

What is happening to my pheasants face?!?

I have a ringneck pheasant in my room. He’s lived in here for almost 2 years. For the past seven months I’ve had a chicken living indoors as well because she became limp. After a few months he moved into her bin, and he goes back-and-forth from his to hers. Last week I noticed one of his eyelids...

Possible lifespan for a silky black sex link cross?

I have a white silky rooster who bred with my black sex link hen the egg was then hatched by my blue laced Wyandotte. I was sad doing research and finding out that my black sex link and Amber links likely won’t live long due to their egg production. I don’t really care about eggs, and I...
