    I LOVE CROWS and MARTINS

Well, the crows can't get to my eggs and since they don't mess with my chickens and they do chase away hawks I will take them over hawks any day of the week. I have lost 4 chickens to hawks in 2 yr period. I hate hawks. I don't care what good they do. The bad they inflict is not a trade off for me.

    I LOVE CROWS and MARTINS

We have an abundance of crows this year and they are giving the hawks a run for the money. The martins are doing their part too. The crows eat the baby bluejay and mocking birds out of their nests which I hate. But, while they are around the hawks are getting chased away which I love. I think...

I have the same thing going on right now. I have some 2 1/2 wk old chicks and some 2yr old hens. Hawks - They're everywhere

I can't wait to see how the Government deals with this. Since you can hurt them, scare them, or remove them. They get a taste of their own medicine.

How can you free range with a hawk in the neighborhood?

Two things I have learned 1.Most important- they have to have somewhere to run for cover 2. They learn what to do the older they get. When they are young they don't seem to get it. My older ones run for cover the first sign of hawk fly over. The younger ones stand still and watch-big mistake.
