I built the Garden Coop. I was very impressed with the plans I recieved. Very easy to follow and the materials list was dead on. I slightly modified the plans to suit me. I keep 7 hens and a rooster in mine comfortably. I did have 11 in there at one time but I got rid of 3 roosters.
Any way...
got our first egg this weekend from our 19 week old RIR hen Blanch!! Now if she could get the other 6 hens to follow her lead we'd be in business!! lol!!
roo, I have a 17 week EE hen all white just like yours and her comb and waddles are barely visible. She is beautiful though and I've often wondered what an EE rooster like her would look like. Post some pics of him when he gets older if you decide to keep him.
My girls are 15 weeks old, I just installed the nest boxes over the weekend complete with golf balls. I think it was better to wait because now they have figured out the whole roosting thing. I too was afraid they would take to sleeping in them. So far they pretty much ignore the nesting boxes...
Mine LOVE watermelon!!! DW balls out the insides and we give them the halves, within in an hour there nothing left but a thin green outer rine, and they'd probably eat that too but I compost the rines.
...expensive). I used ALOT of poultry staples on mine. I actually got a piece of hardware cloth crooked and had to take it back off.....it was h*ll getting them suckers out!!! Tou can buy poultry staples at most hardware stores and they are fairly cheap, probably cheaper that gun staples.
Good...

In the Army we use what is called 5/50 cord for everything. It is actually parachute cord and is extremely strong stuff. I use it for my pop door, and have for some time. It is virtually weather proof and slips easily through the guiding eyes I have in place. 5/50 cord can be purchased in most...
Hey casumm!! I'm just south of you in Nashville, IN....Love those new fuzzy butts you got. Mine are now 7 weeks old and not so fuzzy....lol! You got a coop yet?? Just moved mine in to thiers 2 weeks ago and all is well. If you ever have any questions there are a lot of fellow Hoosiers here on...

I Would not clean it with a scoop, I Would not clean it with some soup,

Not sure if you can see it in the pic, but its a long plastic feeder with holes in it...worked great for mine when they were small. Bought it a Rural King for like 4 bucks!!

Wouldn't see why not....I would assume duck pellets are a little larger that chicken feed, but should flow nicely. I haven't had a clog yet that the girls couldn't unplug on their own. My favorite thing about it is virtually no waste of feed!!
