Yeah, we got our first egg today !!!!!! And not from our BR or Aussies BUT from our EE "Toffee". I didn't expect to get a first egg from an EE since from reading hear I thought they take longer to mature. Guess "Toffee" is an early bloomer 19 weeks and 5 days, laid a beautiful light blue/turquoise egg (hatched April 12 at Cackle hatchery). In the picture it looks really pale but the flash just kills the color. In person the color is al lot prettier !!!!!!! I am so proud !!!!!!
got our first egg this weekend from our 19 week old RIR hen Blanch!! Now if she could get the other 6 hens to follow her lead we'd be in business!! lol!!
OUR First EGG!
Chicks are 18 weeks and I thought they were never going to lay, my wife said just be patient they will lay. Guess she was right. Placed a large store bought white egg and quarter in the picture to show size. Nice firm shell and even brown color. My chickie made me proud!!
