Not sure where to put this but there's a chick involved so here goes!! I have a silkie and her chick whose about 5 weeks old. Because my coop is off the ground the chick can't run free without being stuck outside..I'm wondering if I can put the two into my rabbit pen. We have 2 rabbits in a pen...
My pumpkin vines are pretty well dead from powdery mildew it's also spread to my squash but they seem to be faring better! There's not been a good way to avoid it because it's been so wet here..anyway all the pumpkins are now almost ripe and I'm wondering if I can still use them for cooking...
I still have a little silver sebright rooster needing a new home! He is roughly 4 months old, he crows, he struts, he owns the coop! all 1 1/2 pounds of him =) not looking to sell just needs a good place to go! Pm me if interested!
There's probably some on here but by George there's a lot of content to sift through!! I could use a good recipe for canned apple butter! My husband loves the stuff!
I'm sure this question has been asked before but does anyone in the pella area have fertile eggs? Have a broody and wouldn't mine trying to hatch a few..don't care too much on breed it's more for fun for our boys!
Looks great!! This actually gave me a cheap easy idea for expanding out coop! You can also take strip of wood and sandwich the chicken wire between the wood strip and your run frame and screw that together. It's easy and secure!
Ready to introduce a few new hens to our flock (yes they have been through proper quarantine=)) our established flock has had and been treated for cocci in the past so I'm just wondering when I should start corid for the new hens? After they show symptoms? Right away?
Well gee I never even thought to check there duh! My husband is the one thinking we need some turkeys but we're about to have our 3rd little so I think I've convinced him that we should stick with chickens for this year =P
We picked up some bantam chicks today. We know they are from Townline hatchery however they don't list what they throw in the mix! So for fun we thought we'd get the humble opinions of fellow byc members! We know for sure we have 2 little white silkies otherwise just guesses off of a list...
We are looking for some as well. I found midget white poults on CL for $10/ chick. The only other place I've seen them is the theisens in Coralville lol the feed store waid we cold order them but you have to order 20!
