    HELP ASAP! new chick with unhealed navel & stuff stuck to it

    Just a little update. I woke up ever 2 hrs to check humidity and heat in her humid crib and at 5:10 am this morning she was fine! She had fluffed up and her belly had closed she had begun drinking water holding her head up and eyes open. She also pooped for confirmation that her bowels are working.

    Ok my chick was hatched today and seems well other wise be she has this....what's wrong is it possible she will be okay? I have her in a warm humid crib eight now. She has drank and seems okay. The blood was on her feathers but isnt coming from the umbilical.

    Injured/Pecked chicken, not sure what to do.

    This happened to one of my girls...the other aggressive hen had pecked her comb so hard a piece dried up and fell off. But I brought her in and cleaned her comb with warm water and waited until the bleeding stopped. Then I put a nice coat of Blue-kote on it so the other hens couldn't see red...

    OK :) I always waited a week or 2 before starting the ACV because I'm a worry wart and was scared they wouldn't drink it and would get dehydrated.

    They eat fine and seem to be a nice rowdy bunch and I have always raised in a brooder this is our first experience with mama doing the work so maybe I'm just too nervous.
