what you should do.. is pull there wing apart(just one) and look at the tips. if its just all fuzzy. its a cockroll.. if it has mini feathers its a hen... that should work. its been 100% for everyone i've done
Silkie lover has the right idea... hens are usually the smaller out of the bunch. that's not always the case though. i wouldnt be worried about a thing!

hi, i was wondering on the breed of barred rocks i have. i bought 100 barred rock pullets. to sell to some friend and some to keep for myself. are there 2 different breeds of barred rock hens? like meat and the egg layers?
ALSO.... i have yellow chicks that are coming out with barred rock...
i got 100 barrred rocks and then they trew these in. illl try to get a better photo.... they said they werent barred rocks though. it was a "suprise" hatch

are red broiler or black pullets easier to grow for meat? i have both and am experimenting but i would like some advice. so far my red broilers are like 2 and half lbs or 3 lbs at 4 weeks. i think thats a bit small! what are good prices for selling them?
