Juillet laid hers overnight from the roost bar, but her eggs have nice thick shells now, so it was perfectly good, and miraculously clean!
I’d guess that you have a Red Pyle OEGB cockerel, one OEGB pullet (maybe Silver Duckwing), and the black one is a pullet as well, but I’m unsure of the breed.

We call these Juilleggs “Juipiters”, since they have the lighter stripe around the middle. She does them every so often, and we’ve blown out a few. Her eggs are always a surprise!

Août has discovered my strawberry patch, and I’ve caught her red-beaked twice now. What a little sneak thief!
I haven’t yet trimmed the feathers, but when I get the chance I will. Thanks for the advice! I just switched them from dry grain to fermented feed, and I’m hoping that helps a bit.

Helmi had stridor (a piece of food stuck in her throat that caused alarmingly loud wheezing) this morning. She’s fine now, it resolved on its own, but boy did it freak my husband and I out!
Thank you for replying! Your posts in other threads really helped me figure out what was going on. We were pretty scared there for a while, that sound is alarming!
We had just started giving our girls fermented grain for the first time, and perhaps Helmi really liked it and ate a bit too zealously.
My pullet Helmi is making a wheezing noise. She has a very deep voice normally, and the weezing sounds deep rather than high pitched. She doesn’t do it all the time, but when she’s excited or moves around a lot it gets worse. It was pretty constant earlier and has gotten less frequent over time...
