Update. I made a big hole in the air pocket. I decided to leave it in the shell as the blood vessels were still pink and it seemed active/ flinched when I poked it.
yes and no. I've seen it go both ways, people assisting too early and things not going well, or going in too late and then there's a fully formed and very dead bird. I would help if the blood vessels are empty and the chick is not making a chewing motion with its beak anymore, or if the chick...
that's a good question........................ I think it's early enough you can just flip them over? I typically incubate on the side, but that's just because my incubator isn't well designed.
