Good news! Her crop was empty this morning. She is still constantly chirping and her eyes still are half closed. I just seen her stretch her neck once and open her mouth. Maybe this is because she was impacted for so long before I got a clue :( . But she is more active.
I think it emptied out earlier. I may have felt a bit of something, but it was mostly flat. I put her back in with the rest and she was definitely better than I have seen her in a couple of weeks. She did stretch her neck a few times and opened her mouth, but she didn't seem to be in any...
I put their food up last night but someone put it back in for me this morning:rolleyes:. But I think it may be her crop. Hers is much fuller and harder than the other 2. I was massaging it last night. And the other 2, theirs were a lot more empty this morning while hers is crammed full. It does...
I do understand lol. I'm really hoping to pull her through so I have a mating pair. I have not checked about her crop emptying. Do I check that in the morning? Her crop seems like it is always full during the day anyway. She was 2.4 ounces yesterday and 2.5 today. I think the other...
Thank you Wyorp. I am giving 1/2 tsp liquid Corid to a quart. Just to clarify, I should start the vitamins once she is done with the Corid, right? How would I go about getting her to take the vitamins? I do have Wheat Germ oil that is full of Vitamin E.
I will try to get some photos of her...
I have a 3 week old Appenzeller that was doing great her 1st week. I haven't heard any respiratory issues but I started giving her vetrx a week ago. She mostly stands around a bit ruffled looking and she chirps a quiet chirp almost all of the time. She eats some and drinks some. But her mate is...
OK, so 2019 now. I had been feeding my chickens an organic no soy feed. It was expensive but they didn't go bats**t crazy over it. My supplier went out of business and I have had to start buying Nutrawise which has some organic ingredients, but I can't find anything without soy in it now...
I have had several foxes and bobcat around. I use electric netting from Premier 1 Supplies and it has worked great. It comes with step in posts and you can move it around as needed, simple enough for 1 person. Just an idea.
After all of that, I fixed the syringe up with the food and went down to the kennel and he was dead. Dang, I tell ya, he was a good one and I just hate it. Now half of my flock is without a rooster. Thanks to everyone for all of the help. At least I have the feeding tube for next time.
He is an Appenzeller Spitzhauben. I got the stuff from the vet and going to try to feed him. About Wry neck. Is that something I,need to worry about? Is it something he will come out of?
I'm going to call my vet here in just a minute. Here are some pics. The last image has the slime coming out. It's hard to see. He can't really hold his head up. He didn't seem as slimey here this time when I went out.
That is probably how I should be feeding him with the syringe also instead of pushing a bit in and rubbing his earlobes or whatever trying to get him to swallow.
Great video, thank you! How far do you need to push the tube or what length should the tube be to use that when you push it in you go all the way to the beak as she did?
