wow, this sounds great!!!! Depending on how life goes (husband's job may be in CA this summer) we will either be picking up a few more birds or finding new homes for the ones we have!
Thanks for organizing this thing!
He's been with us for awhile now but we are keeping two roos from our most recent hatch and no longer need him... He is an excellent hawk and fox watcher and protects our free ranging flock of 17 very well.
If interested, I am more than willing to meet you halfway!
Very excellent hawk & fox watcher - he protects his flock very well but we no longer need him. He came from McMurrays hatchery.
Free to a good home.
Willing to meet halfway if you are coming from afar.
Moms were Black Star and Australorp... Blue Laced Red Wyandotte dad.
They are gorgeous! Some brown, some BLR wyandotte, one gray/blue.
We have 6 -free to a good home - either as roosters or...soup?
He's been an awesome fox and hawk spotter even with his full head of feathers. He's about 10 months old and governs over our flock of 11 hens, but we just hatched a new set and will select a new rooster from this bunch.
I am willing to give him up to a good home... The pic was taken in march...
forgot to say that they are 4 months old and because we have a feisty crower already, only two have dared to try and let out a meager crow sound. So far, all are very gentle.
We hatched them - dad was a gorgeous BLRW moms are Black Star and Australorp. These roos came out beautiful! Some are all brown, some are BLRW looking and there are blue with rust flecked ones too.
I'd give preference towards people who want them to live out a good life - but if you are...
I've got a golden laced - he is aggressive and challenges almost everyone. I've grabbed him and held him upside down for awhile, which seemed to get my message across for about two weeks, but he is at it again. We didn't raise him and he's been rehomed twice - first because he was supposed to...
I have BLRW mutt chicks, 5 weeks old. Moms are Austraulorp, Black Star, Ameraucana and maybe the Partridge Cochin (tho no chicks have feathered feet!).
My question is this: a bunch have wattles and I have been calling them all roos... is this true?
I think all 5 Ameraucana eggs that hatched...

I have a similar issue w/one of my white cochins except the rooster is chasing her away when she is off the nest. She also puffs out her wings like a tom and makes clucking/brawwking noises constantly while walking slowly around. Ours, however, lays an egg every day but lets us take...
In order to get repeat blue chicks, do both hen & roo need this blue trait?
What types of blue are there and what is 'self' blue?
I have two 'blue' roos and one pullet that are mutts - crosses of BLRW roo and either Austraulorp or Black Star hens -not sure...
Can the roos (or the hens...
Bigggie egg! "Sparrow" announced three times that she was laying or had laid an egg - I couldn't figure out the fuss until I collected it up - wow! She's an Ameraucana, though you can't tell they are blue eggs from my husband's cell phone pic.
