Hi all
I have a hen who is just 1 yr old as of last week. She is a Gold Star and has been laying an egg usually 5 days on one day off-very reliable layer. This week she hasn't laid anything- I did find one large egg in the run (unusual). I saw her in the nest box many times throughout the day...
Posting this for a friend.
One of her hens started not looking quite "right", kinda puffed up on Sunday night and was dead on Monday morning. Now today another hen is "off" looking.
Her horses were being treated for colic. Vet came on Friday and the horses received tranquilizers and meds...
My friend bought this rooster... was told it is an Ameraucana, we are just wondering-is it? Or is he an EE? What color might you call him?
Sorry for the pictures, they are not the best.
Thank you for your help.
Just got my first incubator yesterday!
Set up and getting the temp. regulated, eggs coming this weekend!
I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.
I have had this hen (18 mo.) since September. She finally started to lay again last week. Although the pictures show white specs on her back (that's just sand) she is solid black that tend toward green in the sunlight. She has gray legs and the bottoms of her feet are grayish as well. She is...
We have our coop and run finished. For someone who didn't want chickens to begin with, my husband sure made them a fabulous home. We have 5 hens (fingers crossed) in here. The coop itself is 5x6 and the run is 12x 20.
The beginning of the run.
The coop and some of the helpers
Thank you in advance for your help..... they range in age from 15 to 13 weeks of age. The EE is my greatest concern as of right now. The rest are (or supposed to be) Gold Star, GLW, Welsummer and Barred Rock.
Hope the pic. upload works... if you need closer up pics please let me know.
Hi
I am so excited to finally be able to post that not only did my husband build me a beautiful coop, but our chickens are here as well!
We have 5 little beauties. One of each: Barred Rock, Easter Egger, Welsummer, GLW and a Gold Star. They were hatched the beginning of April.
