This morning, I went out to feed and water everybody, and they all seemed to be their usual crazy, noisy guinea selves, including my only Buff Dondette male. I saw him eating and drinking, running around with the the others, there was no sign of illness, no puffy feathers, lethargy, discharge...
Can anybody recommend a breeder, preferably in the TX/OK/MO area? I've been searching the web and haven't come up with any. I'd like to get a few chicks or hatching eggs for the spring. I'm interested at giving poultry showing a try and this is the breed that interests me the most. Thanks!
I started this thread in the Guinea forum, but thought others here might be interested too. One of my guinea had to have a toe amputated today and my vet, who is also a personal friend agreed to do it, though she is not a bird vet. I have posted lots of pics and videos of the whole procedure....
Long story short, one of my male French guineas had a de-gloving injury to his middle toe about 2-3 months ago, leaving bone exposed. After consulting with the local poultry gurus, I was assured the bone would die and fall off and the toe would heal. I decided to keep him penned and treat him...
