Can a child get lice from chickens?
The kid I babysit has lice and her mom made a comment about the chickens. I'm pretty sure you can't get lice from chickens but I want your opinions.
I never have the kid around my chickens. I don't think my kids have lice. Heck I don't think my chickens do...
I am sooo excited!! I was beginning to think my EE were duds. lol
I ran in the house to show my kids and my DD asked which chicken laid it and my 3yr old looked at her all serious and said "the chickens didn't lay it, the Easter Bunny did!"
I need your advice so I can talk DH into letting me get a Serama rooster. How loud are they? Would I be able to hide it?
The thing is I live on the wrong side of my property line. lol If I lived across the street it wouldn't matter.
So far the neighbors that know about my chickens don't mind...
But it doesn't look anything like the other girls, also bigger then them. She looked like them as a chick but feathered out with the black instead of white.
So my favorite little packing peanuts have now turned into this! They are 13 days old.
There's no way I will be able to convince DH that its a girl is there?
Anyone know what kind it is?
What can I do for this chick? This morning 7am ish all looked good and when I checked them again around 4pm 2 of them had red sore vents.
I had a couple of chicks with pasty butt but I cleaned them and they were all looking ok now.
I've separated the 2.
This is the worst one. Sorry the pics...
The post office called at 6:16 this morning. Best wake up call I've gotten in a long time! Dh wasn't as thrilled. LOL
All 18 arrived happy and loud!! They are running around and eating.
Since these are my first babies I have a few questions.
If they don't stay under the heat lamp that means...
I'm looking for a Silkie for my kids (ok its more for me but don't tell DH). I thought it would be a great learning experience for my kids to hatch eggs this spring.
I'm in Columbia, Sc.
I know this isn;t the best pic but can you tell me what they are? They just showed up at my mom's house and decided to raise a family in her barn. the light colored one isn;t even sitting on eggs. I guess she wanted to keep the other one company.
I'm looking for a couple of australorps near Columbia, SC. Anyone know where I might be able to get some?
I would prefer if they were around 4 months old.
Thanks
has anyone ever heard of them or ordered from them? I've been searching for some where that will sell less than 25 chicks and came across them.
I've searched through past posts but can't find any mention of them.
