A question......
I currently have a muscovie duck and a pekin sharing a nest. They are fine with the arrangement and no squabbling. Some of the eggs are pekin and some are muscovie obviously. I have no male pekin their mates are scovie.....so when will they hatch? More so if the two breeds hatch at different... -
Mealworm rabbit manure experiment
I started a thread a couple weeks back asking if anyone had ever tried to raise mealworms on dried rabbit manure and apparently nobody had nor could I find any information on google about it. Mealworms do eat decaying vegetation in addition to grain products so figured why not try it...- WillsC

Has anyone tried raising mealworms on dried rabbit manure?
I am just curious if anyone has tried it. Rabbit feed is mostly alfalfa and while not a grain it is very rich. The manure does great things for the garden so it still has a kick. The black soldier fly larvae sure love it and feed them already to the ducks and chickens. Have another set of 6...- WillsC

Interbreed cohabitation with an evil twist
Even though the literature states that Pekin ducks don’t brood I have one here that did not read that pamphlet. Even odder is that the pekin is sharing a nest with one of the muscovie ducks. What material on the bottom of the hatcher?
Is 1/4 hardware cloth ok on the bottom of the hatching tray or should it be lined with paper toweling? -
