    what to do with a broody hen

    We have 15 hens and no rooster. We have 4 nest boxes, which they share well, but lately one of our Golden Wyandottes has gotten really broody and sits on the next all day. Does anyone know what to do with her? I'm afraid she is taking one of the boxes out of use for the other hens.

    We have 15 hens, no rooster, and 1/2 of our hens have feathers pecked off of the back of their necks. Does anyone know what we can put on their necks to deter the others from pecking. We have tried Vasoline and mustard. The vasoline helps, but they liked the mustard. Any other suggestions???

    Pecking feathers from the back of their necks

    Some of our hens have the back of their necks that the feathers have been pecked clean. Does anyone know of anything that we can put on them to discourage the others from pecking. I thought that I heard of Vasoline? How about the spray we use on the dogs to keep them from licking an area?

    Why are some of my hens laying speckled eggs?
