My baby chicks are 3 weeks old and flying out of top of brooder and tub. I don't want to cover it because of lamp. Which brings up question
How soon is too soon to clip wings
And
How long do I need to keep lamp on them?

I just hatched first baby chicks. Missed it due to 1 day early hatch. As I read I find articles on "pasty butt". Says this MUST BE AVOIDED.
Question: How to tell difference in if it is an umbilical cord or pasty butt???
