We were given 10 red comet chicks (parents are red comet sex links). But since the parents were the red comets, can we still assume we can sex them based off color? Please help!!
Hi everyone. I really want to get some button quail but am curious on how they will be able to interact with my chickens. Do they get along well? Also, can button quail escape through normal chicken wire since they are so small?
any other advice you may have is greatly appreciated.
I had a friend share this with me at work. Since I have chickens they always share egg recipes with me!
Enjoy!

Has anyone ever done this before? I looked through the "Silkies of a Different Color" thread and after 30 pages, i gave up bc none were a cross between a partridge and a solid white.

Is there any special way to take eggs out of a chicken coop? I do not have a rooster so they are unfertilized; just want to make sure i'm not stressing my baby girls out -- they've just hatched their first eggs this past Saturday.
I have just purchased my first two Myotonic goats ever! I am getting a female this weekend (she is around 2 months old). Just wondering how long I should wait before putting her in with the other two (a buck and a wether).
not that it matters, but below is my wether (left) and my buck...
I have just started my chicken journey and was lucky enough to find a two story chicken coop for sale on Craigslist for $35! Granted, it needed a lot of re-wiring, new wood, paint and removal of rusty nails. But here is what I ended up with:
I must say, this is one of the best deals I...
So, I am very aware that silkies are hard to sex -- i have 3. I am almost positive that two are hens, but my third is a very iffy character. He/She tends to heard my other chickens (including my three Easter Eggers); He/She will have stand offs/staring contests with my dog and will ruffle its...
