I have a creek that i can get crayfish from on our property , should chickens eat the crayfish as snacks if they are small enough for them to peck at, has anyone else fed any treats that are fun to watchthe chickens eat? have any mixes to feed them, like seeds, corn, berries anything else?

i got a day old jersey giant -supposed to be- rooster in the mail 8 months ago and he is actually a little over 8 months old now, ---- but he has no wattles, hardly and he looks more like the jesrey giant hen than a rooster. i have read that they don't mature until 12 - 15 months or so but...

Any suggestions? can't keep the chicken saddles to stay on hens backs for long, they fall off ..........should i criss cross the elastic across the chest area of teh hen to help hold the saddle on her back .........they have red naked backs and i want to prevent more rooster damage...
Chickens love eartworms that i feed them and they love the weeds afetr pulling them outta the ground with the roots and soil connected. I enjoy free ranging them the hour before it gets dark because they eat grass and then they finally roost around 6 to 7 p.m. Any ideas of bugs they enjoy...

My chickens love canned corn because it is softer and easier to eat than dried corn, i put it in a dish and it is one of their favorite treats. Anyone think this is healthy for chcikens. i don't think anything is added to the indredients of sweet corn in a can? i feed it in moderation...

I feed my chickens their grit inside the coop in a small bowl, but the chickens keep tipping the bowl over, any suggestions of how to spread the grit and how much to feed per chicken?
