    Going to pick up my first set of chicks tomorrow. It will be close to 90 deg tomorrow. Will I still need to put a light in the brooder, or will the ambient heat be enough. I will have it set up at night when the temp drops to high 70's and low 80's.

    While reading about coops and space requirements, I have either overlooked or didn't see any reference to the height needs inside the coop. I believe I have read somewhere that the roost needs to be 12-18" off of the floor. How high should/must the roof be for standard breed chickens?
