Looking to buy a dozen or so (depending upon price) bantam orpington hatching eggs. Color not important. Please drop me a PM. Located in western NY if that helps with calculation of shipping.
Thanks, Tony
Anyone have an indoor aviary for quail or small birds? I over winter a few coturnix in the basement each year as it is too cold in these parts to keep them outside. I've kept them in brooder cages in the past but thought I might build something a little more aesthetic for the upstairs. Nothing...
Who needs TV when there are week old quail running around the brooder like the Keystone Cops. Sigh, but they grow up so fast...their primaries are already coming in. Before you know it, they'll be at that homely, teenage stage with half their feathers...

Just an FYI. I see some post with folks talking about digital thermometers and differences in temps between thermometers. All digital thermometers are not created equal. I did a quick experiment using 2 el cheapo digital thermometers, one from Radio Shack, the other from Wallie mart, an...
Yep, "There's a whole lot a shakin' goin' on' in the incubator. Some of the eggs are motoring around pretty good. One jumbo coturnix hatched early last night. Worked out perfect as my youngest DD and I were there to watch...I never get tired of seeing the miracle of a chick hatch. It's even...
I was think about this the other night as I worked on designs for my portable critter tractor and the expansion of the rabbit colony. Motion lights work to some extent as does good fencing, especially if the fence is extended into the ground. Electric fencing is one of the better deterents but...
Anybody looking to swap? I don't have any eggs right now but the hutches are full of rex rabbits. I'd be willing to swap a breeding pair or trio for eggs or chicks. BTW, I'm in the Rochester area.
