My goose tried to drown one of my ducks. .
My buff goose (female) pinned one of my ducks in their water tub, pulled out a bunch of her feathers and then proceeded to hold her under the water until I chased her off. Is this normal? I think she would have drown the duck if I didn't stop her. I've separated her from the others for now... -
How long can one chick wait while the others hatch (natural hatching w/ broody hen)
We gave our broody hen 12 fertile eggs and this morning found one chick hatched perfectly on schedule on day 21. I'm worried the mama hen wont show the one chick to the food or water while she's waiting on the other eggs to hatch? I've read that the chick should be okay for 3 days with out food...- September

Wintering My ducks
I am hoping someone else who has cold winters might be able to help me out. I live in colorado and it can get really cold at night during the winter. I was wondering if I should consider a heat lamp, or something else for them at night?? I've had chickens on and off for years and we've mostly...
