Thank you for your time. These chicks are about 3 weeks old. Fairly certain the light one with mottled brown wings is a male, from the tail. Not sure at all about the gray one. I tried to get good pictures , but they are so squirmy.

Not everybody was cooperating with picture day, lol. I tried my best to get side and front standing photos but some of the chicks were having none of that. I’ll tell you what I know of the breeds as most, I found out, are cross-breeds. Hopefully what info I have will help with sexing.
All are...
Hello.
I have a group of chicks that are going to be hard to sex. You can’t compare them to each other because they hatched between the 13th and 16th. Some of them are up to 3 full days older than the others and I have no idea which. Half of them I am also asking for help with the breed. I’ll...
I have poured over pictures on google and I am still not convinced. I’m thinking maybe hen, but admit to not being good at it when they are younger. My only experience with Cochins is frizzles and their feathers look totally different.
... before this approximately 2 month old polish crows, isn’t it? I thought it was a hen but now that the crest is well developed, I’m pretty sure it’s a rooster. Your thoughts?
Can you help give me an idea of who I should suspect if I hear crowing? I looooove roosters, but I live in a city that disallows them. This batch of chickies is about 2 months old. Thanks so much .
Bantam Polish. We call this one Poker for now, because it is super curious about the other chicks...
S/he is about 3 months old. S/he had a bath so isn't very frizzly in these pictures. This chick is very patient and fairly docile. Gets along well with chicks younger and older.
Meet Ethel. She is the outcast of my little flock. If she dares try to hang around the other three chickens, Gertrude (Wyandotte) chases her away. If Edna (my other RIR) sees Gertrude do this, she will race over to help Gertrude chase her.
The only one who will let her hang is Agnes (my EE). If...
UPDATE: Velda has become Gertrude*. Oh, and Gertrude is a White Wyandote.
This is the best picture I have of her, so far. I will try to get another tomorrow. She is about the size of my RIR's and not as big as my Barred Rock. She has a spare, well rounded tail. She is (as far as I can...
Hello, I am a brand new backyard chicken owner. I have 4 pullets from a good friend coming on Monday and I can't wait. I figured that, since I have been using this page for about a month, I should join.
I am excited to talk to other backyard chicken owners to share my passion and receive advice.
