    What is this??

    This spot that looks like blood was inside my BR first egg... It's kind of gummy,,,, I think it's blood? I know a fertile egg has spots sometimes, but I have no Roo!! Is this normal?

    Maude Update

    Maude is doing much better!! Not sure exactly what was wrong...Started her on Sulmet and brought her in last night and gave her another dose of Duramycin and cleaned her ears out .... Ears had no signs of wax or mites but I treated them regardless.... Whatever fluid was in her Earlobes is now...

    HELP!!

    I went out this afternoon to give hens water.... My Maude girl is acting lethargic.... I brought her inside to cool her off bc it's hot here.... Then I noticed the side of her face swollen and hot... Her crop was also big so I've given her olive oil.... Any ideas? Maybe a sting?

    Hi, I have set up my 3 nesting boxes.... Which they are not using yet.... Hopefully this week... Do I need to hang a curtain over the boxes? It gets quite a bit of light... They free range and aren't in coop during the day, so it's quiet but not dark...

    Nesting Box ?

    Hi, my hens are mainly between 15-18 weeks.... At what point do I need to open nesting boxes? All my birds roost, so I'm hoping my 2 youngest ones don't start sleeping in there..... Also I'm feeding 23% chick starter....I'm fixing to have to buy food, should I get flock raiser or layer? Thank you

    More Ventalation ?

    My coop is extremally hot inside.... We have hardly any shade.... Since this picture I have opened up the whole bottom section with hardwire.... It's still not getting air flow... I have 2 windows in front that are open , plus the sides which are pictured..... Were going out of town for 4 days...

    Safeguard ??

    Ok so I suspect my chickens have a parasite.... A few look as if they've lost weight. I need to get a scale.. .. I wormed with safeguard one time and then again 10 days later.....did I do it correctly? Or am I suppose to do 3 days then 10 days?
