    i hate this incubator

    I have the hovabator 1602n. Third hatch is set. Thermometer is accurate. Without touching the stinking thermostat or being in a drafty area it goes 99, 100, 96, 102, 100, 104, 99....its infuriating to have to monitor the stupid thing every hour for 21 days.

    limping

    My aussie/sumatra started limping pretty badly yesterday. Laying down a lot, hopping on one foot, etc. I think bumblefoot. No swelling, no heat, no blemishes, no fractures. I manipulate her leg-no struggling and ROM is fine. Shes eating and drinking just fine and can still outrun me on one leg...

    Out of a hatch of 25, i have 3 that are not well. Flipping backwards, getting stuck on their backs, falling over. One can walk a little, then falls and cant get up, one is pigeon toed, and one scoots backwards on its butt. I get at least one like this every hatch and ot typically dies within 48...

    So i went to buy fertilizer..... Anyway, i asked what breeds the feed store had and all i got was, "eh, i dunno." And a box handed to me. The gray one is supposedly just an ugly mutt but i think its absolutely stunning. What all did i end up with?

    Easter Rock chick pitiful

    22% hatch. help!

    Sad day here. 17/24 dead and one struggling. Something went very wrong here. I need to know what. Using hovabator 1602N. Set 24 eggs (1-3 days old and rotated 3x day while i collected choice eggs). Temp at 100. One well filled. Eggs hand rotated 3x daily. Day 7 candled-2,4,6,7,14,17,22...

    when to quit

    Day 21 started wednesday at 4pm. That means we are 11 hours into day 22 and we just had our first hatch out of 24 eggs. I hear one other chirping but there are no pips anywhere. How long do i give everyone else before i give up on them? :/

    Hatch day!

    We are 17 hours into the 21st day of incubation and eggs are wiggling but no pips yet! How do you guys get anything accomplished on hatch day?! Between waiting on chicks and checking on kittens im pretty much occupied for the day! ;) I cant wait!! Come on chickes, im ready to sing happy birthday!
