    Temp accuracy

    I would like to know what type of thermometer everyone thinks is more accurate, a digital or a glass one. Right now I have both in the bator, but I am curious, they are within a degree of each other at the same height in a forced air unit.

    Have bator will hatch!

    Today is the day, first time tring to hatch. I got a nice Brinsea octo 20 eco. It is holding temp steady. I will be putting in 5 BLRW eggs and 5 silver Amer. eggs. I am excited but nervous at the same time. Here is hoping that all will go well.

    Chick with breathing problems

    I have a chick that is sounding very raspy, during chriping and breathing. Would impacted crop cause such a sound? 8 days old white mountain. She is in a brooder at 90-92 degrees, with soft wood shavings, clean food and water, no meds and 20% purina chick starter.

    I have a white mountain broiler about a week old. Noticed today that she sounds very raspy, almost like a duck. When she is sleeping she has raspy breathing as well. Her crop seems to be large so we massaged it and put some EVOO down her throat to break up the impact. She never "threw up"...
